Odin introduces bacon beer!

Whatever it is, it is better with bacon. Where would eggs be without bacon? What would you call a BLT sandwich if there were no B? A lettuce and tomato sandwich sounds unforgivably boring. A cheeseburger is a fine pile of food on its own, but add bacon and it’s a mother-beautiful culinary creation. So adding bacon to beer cannot be a bad thing.

Odin Brewing just sent us a press release introducing Smoky Bacon Ale. The pork-packed potable made its debut at the Tacoma Craft Beer Festival and has already showed up around town. Details about where you can find the beer are included in the press release.

Here’s the press release

Odin Brewing Company is proud to introduce its latest seasonal creation, Smoky Bacon Ale!  Brewed with real bacon and peat smoked malt, this unfiltered brown ale is a well-balanced, drinkable brew that isn’t anywhere near to being one-dimensional.  At 6.0% ABV, Smoky Bacon Ale will send your palate to a Viking feast, while being gobbled down easy enough, you’ll be craving seconds.

Barbeques generate their excitement through the aromas wafting through the air, and our Smoky Bacon Ale is no different. An aroma of deep rich smoke with a hint of sweetness will get the party started. A balanced top note of smoke and sweet maltiness leads well into the caramel and coffee flavors that begin to arise as the beer goes down. A slightly nutty flavor accentuates the smoothness of the mouthfeel as a medium bitterness from the hops round out this beer.
