Last Saturday night more than 200 people bowled in the annual Beer Church Turkey Bowl. Beyond that, dozens of people showed up just to hang out and support the cause. Everyone participated in the raffle. In the end, we raised more than $5,000 for the West Seattle Food Bank. How much food we collected remains to be seen. All things considered, it was a very good night and we are thankful for everyone who participated in anyway. Check out the photos below, provided by Mark B Bauschke Photography.
This year 11 breweries competed in the Beer Church Battle of the Brewers. Defending their title, Naked City Brewing took home the trophy again this year. Naked City proved victorious over teams from Black Raven Brewing, Odin Brewing, Pike Brewing, Schooner Exact Brewing, Elysian Brewing, Elliott Bay Brewing, Georgetown Brewing, Two Beers Brewing, Redhook Brewery, and Emerald City Beer Company.
Five teams competed in the Beer Church Bar Brawl. In the end, Mission Latin Restaurant and Lounge took home the trophy, defeating teams from Latona Pub, Beveridge Place Pub, Dog and Pony Alehouse, and Elliott Bay Brewery Pub.
Beer Church is the charitable arm of the Washington Beer Blog. This was the 14th Annual Beer Church Turkey Bowl. The event is more of a party than it is a competition. The goal is to have a good time while supporting the West Seattle Food Bank. Once again, we did a very good job of accomplishing that goal. Thank you again to everyone who participated, volunteered, or donated prizes for the raffle. None of this is possible without you.
