Postdoc Brewing celebrating one year with 20 beers

Just about one year ago the beers began to flow from Postdoc Brewing in Redmond, Washington. Today we are happy to welcome them aboard as the newest blog sponsor and tell you about the upcoming anniversary celebration. To commemorate a successful first year of operations, the brewery has planned a weekend-long party from February 26th thru 28th.

The taproom will serve something like 20 different beers over the course of the celebration, including some very special treats. For example, Hogus Maximus Barriclus Barrel-Aged Triple IPA, Hazelnut Coffee Porter, Barrel-Aged Gose with Pineapple, Grapefruit Kolsch, Barrel-Aged Demon Star Imperial Stout, and many more delicious surprises.

Food trucks will also be on the scene throughout the party. Check out Postdocā€™s Facebook page for more detail.

post_doc_logo-360pxHead Brewer and co-owner, Tom Schmidlin (pictured above) came up with the name Postdoc when he was still a homebrewer and postdoctoral scholar at the University of Washington pursuing a PhD in Biochemistry. The name stuck and became a commercial reality once Tom and his wife, Julie, decided to go into business with their neighbors, Debbie and Jonny Chambers.

Postdoc Brewing is located near the east entrance to Marymoor Park, making it a great beer stop for dog parkers, soccer players and softballers, cyclists, and commuters using the park as a not-so-secret shortcut around traffic. And, of course, anyone seeking good beer. The taproom is all-ages.
