Ragin’ Cajun Imperial IPA Release

This Friday Geaux Brewing releases Ragin’ Cajun Imperial IPA at its taproom in Bellevue. I think this brewery is still something of a secret. Tucked away in a light industrial business park in Bellevue (near the corner of NE 20th Street and 120 Ave NE), this young brewery just opened its doors a couple months ago.

You’ll be impressed by the beers and the atmosphere they’ve created in the tap room. You’d never guess it from the outside, but inside the decor speaks to their Louisianan roots. For a small brewery, they have an impressive lineup of beers. My last visit, I think they had eight or ten different beers on tap. Also, we understand that they are dedicated to an impressive mission: they’re going to brew every beer in the BJCP style guide book. The Beer Judging Certification Program list of beer styles includes something like 120 different styles.

Here’s a message we received from Jeremy Hubbell at Geaux Brewing: “Just a heads up that we’ll be releasing our Imperial IPA, Ragin’ Cajun this Friday at 3pm in the taproom. It’s a big beer, weighing in at 9.4%. The base of Maris Otter, Munich, and Caramel malts provide a firm malt background while allowing the Mosaic, Citra, and Simcoe hops to shine through like a good Imperial IPA should. We’ll be pouring both traditional carbonated Ragin’ Cajun and, for the first time, on Nitro as well.”

Sounds like an excuse to go visit Geaux this weekend. I wouldn’t expect the beer to last much beyond that.
