Redhook Brewlab celebrating first anniversary on August 17

In August of 2017 Redhook Ale Brewery opened its Seattle brewpub, Brewlab, by offering a series of collaboration beers brewed with other Washington breweries. On Friday, August 17th, Redhook Brewlab celebrates its first anniversary by doing it again, tapping into some new collaboration beers. That’s not all. Here are the details about the celebration.

Redhook will celebrate the first anniversary of Brewlab, its experimental brewery and pub, in Capitol Hill on Friday, August 17 at 3 p.m.

As part of the celebration, Redhook Brewlab will tap Brewlab1, a New England-style IPA brewed for the occasion, and three new collaborations: a Brut IPA made with Hellbent Brewing, a whiskey barrel-aged Doppelbock with award-winning Westland Distillery, and a pilsner with Aslan Brewing. At the event, Redhook will also kick-off its brand new “Crowler Club,” Brewlab’s membership club, where members receive perks like monthly limited release beers in 32-ounce crowlers, access to special events, a birthday beer, and ongoing discounts at Redhook Brewlab on beer, food and merchandise.

“Over the course of the first year we collaborated with dozens of local breweries and artisans on beers and we’ve continued to partner with amazing brewers, artists and the Seattle community,” said Redhook Brewlab Head Brewer Nick Crandall. “During that time we also tapped over 100 new beers and we’re excited to continue building on that experimental foundation in the years to come.”

Crandall’s innovative nature makes for a wide variety of styles available at Brewlab at any given time. Some of the crowd favorites from the first year include Redhook’s recent beer brewed for Pride Week, Highly Verotic, a glitter pale ale, Transparent Reality, a citrusy, earthy pilsner, and its top-selling IPA, Across the Ditch, an IPA brewed with hops from New Zealand and Australia. Brewlab’s “Washington Native Series”, which features beers brewed strictly with Washington malts and hops, has also been a big hit.

Other hits from the first year include beers that have been or will be packaged in 6-packs as part of Redhook’s limited release series this year: Peaches for Me IPA brewed with peach and mango, Continuous Revelation IPA brewed with coffee and Mothers of the Sun raspberry saison.

Special Anniversary Party pricing will be available on all beers throughout Friday, and guests can try tasters of the three new collaboration beers by ordering the Anniversary Brewer’s Board, which includes 4-ounce pours of the beers paired with small bites. Renowned Taylor Shellfish will be on hand at the event, shucking and sampling its delicious oysters for attendees. Theo Chocolate will also join the celebration with a special “1 Year Anniversary” ganache with Redhook’s Tangelic Halo Tangerine IPA.
