SBW Event – LagerFest at Gordon Biersch

Seattle Beer Week can overwhelm your palate. So many big beers. But this year Gordon Biersch wants to give your palate a break: LagerFest, on Wednesday, May 13 . Basically, it’s a tap takeover at Gordon Biersch. It’s hard to imagine, but they’re turning over all of their taps to other breweries’ beers. All lagers. Most, locally produced. The list of beers is below.

People often ask me what I think will be the next big thing? What will be the next IPA? As if I’d know. Lately my answer has been, “Lager.” I think that our collective beer palate has matured enough to appreciate the subtlety of well-crafted lagers.  I’m probably wrong, but it’s a nice sentiment. I sure do appreciate a good lager and there typically are not enough of them around. But wait…
