Time flies. It seems like only yesterday that I stood in the longest line I’d ever seen at the Beveridge Place Pub, waiting to get my first pint of beer from a new brewery: Schooner EXACT Brewing. It was January 2007, at the tiny old pub, next door, not the fancy new Beveridge Place Pub. By the time I reached the front of the line, they were running out of beer. At the time, the Schooner EXACT launch party was the busiest night in the pub’s history.
This Sunday, January 18th, at the Schooner EXACT brewery and restaurant in SoDo, the company kicks off a celebration to commemorate its 8th Anniversary with special beers, a special beer/food pairing menu, and more. Yes, they’ll be tapping into some of the sour stuff. Details below.
It’s been a great ride and I’m happy to say that I’ve watched ever step along the way. The nano days in an ActivSpace unit on Harbor Avenue. The shared wall with Trade Route Brewing in South Park. The brewery’s rapid growth and maturation at the current location in SoDo. Barrels, a restaurant, a baby, a lot of bloodied knuckles and bruised knees, and now the introduction of a new 20-barrel brewhouse.

Schooner EXACT Brewing Co. Celebrates Eight Years in Operation; 20-Barrel Brewhouse Expansion Complete
SEATTLE (January 10th, 2015) – Eight years ago this January, Schooner EXACT Brewing Co. opened its garage door for the first time to the public as a half-barrel nanobrewery in West Seattle. Today, we’re proud to announce our expansion to a 20-barrel brewhouse in SODO and we’d like to invite everyone to help us mark the occasion.
Our celebration will kick off on Sunday, January 18th with a Seahawks viewing party at noon. We’ll be tapping of a keg of our Raspberry Wheat Sour Ale and a special keg of Gateway Golden Ale infused with kefir lime, lemongrass and Chinook hops. Our dynamite brunch will be served from 10-2 PM. Then, starting Sunday at 3 PM and running all week long, our kitchen will be offering a special 3-course food and beer pairing menu. Our Chef Warren Peterson, Sous Chef Eric Fitzgerald and their amazing staff continue to create fantastic dishes that pair wonderfully with Matt’s beer. This menu will be yet another example of their skill.
On Thursday, January 22nd every customer will receive a raffle ticket with a chance to win Schooner EXACT merchandise and an Evergreen Mug Club membership. Raffle winners will be announced every hour starting at 2pm.
For those interested in getting a closer look at the brewery, you can join one of our brewers on a tour of our new 20-barrel brewhouse! Tours will be available Sunday through Thursday at 4:30 PM. Space is limited and will be first come, first serve.
Located at 3901 1st Ave S. in the “SODO UrbanWorks” industrial complex, Schooner EXACT has 12 dedicated house beer taps including the newly released Evergreen IPA, bourbon barrel-aged Hoppy the Woodsman, Bitter Beer Face Double IPA, Hoppy Holidays Winter Ale, 3-Grid IPA and 7 other Year-round and Seasonal beers.
If guests care to venture from beer, both red and white wines from Proletariat Wine Company are on tap. Schooner EXACT also caters to those looking for amazing craft cider by offering two dedicated lines that rotate local and regionally brewed ciders.
Schooner EXACT is also switching to new winter hours and will now be open every M-F from 11-9 PM and S-Su from 10-9 PM. We encourage you to bring the whole family to celebrate with us!
