Seattle area beer lovers raise over $5k for West Seattle Food Bank

On Saturday, November 23rd approximately 200 beer lovers, brewery workers, and other industry professionals assembled at West Seattle Bowl for the 15th Annual Beer Church Turkey Bowl. The event was a fundraiser and food drive for the West Seattle Food Bank. By the end of the night, Turkey Bowl resulted in the donation of over $5,000 and 2,300 pounds of food. Below we have pictures from the event.

Within the larger bowling party, industry representatives from local breweries, restaurants and bars competed for trophies. The 2013 Battle of the Brewers Champion is Elliott Bay Brewery & Pub. Other participating breweries included Airways Brewing, Elysian Brewing, Two Beers Brewing, Georgetown Brewing, Silver City Brewing, Pike Brewing, and Naked City Brewing.

The 2013 Bar Brawl Champion is Mission Latin Restaurant and Lounge, defending its 2012 title. Other participating restaurants and bars included Latona Pub, Beveridge Place Pub and Copper Coin.

The same people who produce the Washington Beer Blog operate Beer Church. The Beer Church mission is simple: create fun and easy ways for beer lovers to contribute to charitable causes.  On behalf of the West Seattle Food Bank, we would like to thank everyone who participated and made this year’s even such a success. We would also like to thank all the merchants who donated prizes for our target raffle and to all of our volunteers who helped make the event run so smoothly.
