Sound to Summit Brewing kicks off its Seven Summits Imperial IPA Series

For the second year, Sound to Summit Brewing is ready to release its Seven Summits Imperial IPA Series. Denali West Coast Double IPA, the first beer in the series, has already been tapped. Over the next couple of months, the brewery will release six double IPAs and one Triple IPA. In doing so, the brewery showcases the diversity flavor and style within the IPA category. Each beer is named after the tallest peak on each of the seven continents.

“We cover a wide range of sub-styles of IPA’s that include: West Coast IPA, Northwest IPA, Hazy IPA, Black IPA, Brut IPA, Milkshake IPA, and culminating in a Triple IPA,” says the company in a press release. “This is the second year that we are offering this Imperial IPA series due to its popularity last year. As a part of the series, each guest is given a punch card that they can fill out as they drink through all seven summits.”

The brewery releases the beers at semi-regular intervals from now until early February. Denali West Coast Double IPA was just tapped today to kick off the series. This is an 8.3% IPA that is light in color but bursting with flavor and aroma. It features Columbus, Simcoe, and Mosaic hops which deliver notes of citrus, spruce tips, and overripe mango to a surprisingly smooth double IPA.

Once the last beer of the series is released, customers can redeem their completed punch cards for a special-edition prize. The series wraps up at Sound to Summit Brewing’s anniversary party in February, when they will tap all seven of the beers at once.
