A special evening with the Kempers

On April 24th, the North Cascades Institute will host a very special event, as they welcome Chuckanut Brewery’s Will and Mari Kemper for a brewers dinner. Beyond a normal beer dinner, it promises to be  “A night full of beer history and lore, insider stories from the front lines of the Northwest’s microbrewing revolution and a special multi-course meal created to showcase several of Kemper’s best brews.”

This event takes place at the North Cascades Institute’s Learning Center on Diablo Lake in North Cascades National Park. (Take a tour of the Learning Center, it’s pretty amazing.) The $95 cost of admission includes an overnight stay. This is a great way to get out of the city for a little bit of peaceful relaxation. Visit the North Cascades Institute Web site for details and to register.

Will Kemper’s professional brewing career stretches across decades and spans the globe. Back in the 80’s, he was a key player in the Northwest’s craft beer scene. Since then, he’s helped open breweries in California, Colorado, Mexico and Turkey. Today, he’s crafting award winning beers at his brewery in Bellingham. He and his wife, Mari, have a unique perspective on the craft beer revolution of the past 30 years.

At this event, “The Kempers will weave tales of their long personal history in the craft beer movement and introduce each beer in turn — what style it is, how it is prepared, its historical background and place in world cultures.”
