Sumerian Brewing Company is preparing to celebrate its first year in business. And what a year it’s been for this Woodinville brewery. Below I share information about the anniversary event and about the brewery’s year-one accomplishments.
On Friday, April 8th Sumerian Brewing will celebrate its first anniversary at its brewery in Woodinville. They’ll have a special beer tapped for the event an all beers will be $1 off for the day, along with food specials, raffle prizes, and a birthday cake. Raffle prizes will be awarded every hour from 6:00-9:00 and you’ll get a free raffle ticket just for being there. For details, see the Facebook event page.
This event commemorates the actual day the brewery got rolling, but they plan to host another “grand” anniversary celebration at a later date, after the beer garden has reopened.
It’s been a whirlwind first year for Sumerian Brewing. As a self-distributed brewery, they secured some impressive key accounts, like Tom Douglas Restaurants, Tavern Hall, the Space Needle, Cactus Restaurants, and a total of about 80 accounts.

Beer, Brats and a Movie

In January, Sumerian Brewing introduced a food menu at the brewery, featuring warm-braided pretzels, bratwurst (four different kinds) from Uli’s Meats in Pike Place Market, gourmet mustards, sauerkraut, crème cheese, peppers, and fresh rolls from Macrina Bakery. Basically, it’s a “build your own” bratwurst experience.
They also introduced Tuesday-Brewsday Movie Nights in the brew-house, showing movies on their 165-inch television. Keep an eye on Facebook to see what’s playing this week.
Bottles!
This Thursday, March 10th, Sumerian Brewing will bottle its beer for the first time. To begin with, they’ll bottle the Lucidity Pilsner and the Eruption Double IPA. The Narcissism IPA will also find its way into bottles soon. Look for the bottles at Whole Foods, Metropolitan Market, Total Wine and a handful of other grocery stores. To gear up for bottling, they’ve added three more 30-barrel tanks and have more expansion in the works.
On top of all that, Sumerian Brewing is part of the Woodinville Brewery Championship, which we told you about last week.
