Tacoma Gets a New Beer Festival – South Sound IPA Festival

People have been asking about the Tacoma Craft Beer Festival. Without going into details, problems with last year’s festival made it impossible for the event organizers to do it again this year. But don’t despair! The Washington Beer Commission feels your pain. Tacoma will indeed have a beer festival this year. The South Sound IPA Festival will be managed by the Washington Beer Commission. The plan is to start modestly and grow the event in coming years.

The inaugural South Sound IPA Festival will take place on Saturday, October 18th at Union Station in Tacoma. This intimate event will feature 24 Washington breweries pouring 50+ IPA’s during two tasting sessions. The 1st session will run Noon to 4:00pm and the second session from 5:30pm to 9:30pm on Saturday, October 18th. Tickets go on sale Thursday, September 11th. Location:

  1. I hope the venue and participants make this a great success. Being an IPA fan and from the area, I will put this on the calendar as an annual event!
