by Kendall Jones, washingtonbeerblog.com
Last Saturday as many of us were busy enjoying the Belgianfest in Georgetown, the Barking Dog Alehouse in Ballard hosted a benefit for Haitian relief (read our original post). The event was sponsored by Deschutes Brewing, Diamond Knot Brewing, Fremont Brewing, and Georgetown Brewing.

All proceeds benefited People in Need Partnership — a non-partisan, non-religious organization designed to connect what lies under the surface with practical action. Basically, they provide a very direct, immediate way to help. People in Need Partnership already had people on the ground in Haiti ready to help, but they were in need of supplies.

The good folks at the Barking Dog stepped up big time. In the end they raised enough money to buy two truckloads of supplies. Cheers to everyone who contributed and a big shout out to the sponsors.

From the Barking Dog, in their own words:

The Fundraiser was GREAT and with the results, we were able to buy 2 truck loads of supplies that are being distributed this week!!! Thank you Georgetown, Diamond Knot, Deschutes and Fremont Brewing and EVERYONE that came and participated!!

by Kendall Jones, washingtonbeerblog.com
This Saturday the Barking Dog Alehouse will host a fundraiser for People in Need Partnership. The devastation and suffering in Haiti has created a massive need for many kinds of relief. It has filled us all with a desire to help in some way. Head to the Barking Dog this Saturday at 7:00 p.m. and show your support.

The event is sponsored by Deschutes Brewing, Diamond Knot Brewing, and Georgetown Brewing. Drink beer from one of the those breweries and you’re supporting the cause. It’s that easy. Proceeds benefit People in Need Partnership — a non-partisan, non-religious organization designed to connect what lies under the surface with practical action. A representative from the organization will be there on Saturday night to answer any questions and explain how your donations will help. People in Need Partnership puts real people in a position to positively affect change in the lives of individuals living in the most impoverished places on earth, including Haiti. People in Need Partnership has been engaged in Haiti for some time and is already on the ground ready to help. The funds generated from this event will be put to work immediately.

The event at the Barking Dog this Saturday will provide you many ways to help. You can help just by showing up and drinking some beer.
