Last night’s Thirsty Sisters event at Pike Brewing was all it promised to be and a little bit more. The event, which I describe as a celebration of the role women play in the Pacific Northwest beer industry, featured a number of beers brewed by women. Also, a lot of great food from local vendors.
Thirsty Sisters Seattle describes itself as: “Uniting local women interested in or working in the beer industry. To introduce and educate our Thirsty Sisters to craft beer. The Thirsty Sisters evolved out of a growing desire for the women involved in the craft beer industry in the greater Seattle area to come together and pool their resources. With the ever expanding involvement of women in the brewing business, Thirsty Sisters recognized a need to not only celebrate their love for craft beer, but also to educate other women on the historical significance of females in the craft beer industry. Through events such as the one planned for Seattle Beer Week, Thirsty Sisters hopes to bring more women into the fold and foster a vibrant, diverse craft brew community.”
Below are some photos I took at last night’s event.
