This year’s Washington Brewers Festival is called off

You had to know this was coming, but it still hurts to hear. The Washington Beer Commission announced today that it has canceled the Washington Brewers Festival, for now anyway. The state’s largest annual beer festival takes place at Marymoor Park in Redmond each June. This year, if it happens at all, it will be later in the summer. Officially, this would have been the 15th Annual Washington Brewers Festival, but some form of this event dates back to the mid-1990s.

I hope everyone can imagine that trying to plan an event like this while facing countless uncertainties is nearly impossible. There are too many things to plan and too many things to consider. Although a lot of us are heartbroken, remember that everyone involved did their best to make it happen in June as usual, but it is just not possible given the current circumstances. Here is the official announcement.

We hope you’re staying safe and healthy during this unprecedented time. Under the current federal and state “stay at home” regulations, the Washington Beer Commission has had to make some difficult decisions regarding its craft beer tasting festivals you all know and love.

Today we announce the postponement of the 15th Annual Washington Brewers Festival, which
was scheduled for June 19-21, 2020 at King County’s Marymoor Park. This annual celebration
of Washington-brewed craft beer on Father’s Day weekend is a time-honored tradition for
thousands and we are looking into the possibility of producing a like event at a later date this
summer (August/September).
