Washington Cask Beer Festival is one of the most highly anticipated beer events of the year, especially for people who fancy cask-conditioned beer. And there are a lot of us. This year Cask Fest happens on March 19th at the Seattle Center Exhibition Hall. Seasoned beer veterans know that this one usually sells out pretty quick.
The event features over 100 cask-conditioned beers brewed by more than 40 Washington breweries. This year, there are some newcomers to the event. First-timers, if you will.
All of the participating breweries are members of the Washington Brewers Guild, a non-profit organization that works to advance the interests of the industry while promoting a spirit of comradery among Washington’s brewers. The event serves as a fundraiser for the Washington Brewers Guild and its lobbying efforts in Olympia and its continuing work to protect and benefit the industry that beer enthusiasts love.
Washington Cask Beer Festival provides a rare opportunity to sample over 100 limited-release, cask-conditioned beers, many of which are exclusive to this event.
Also featured at the event, the annual tapping of Herbert’s Legendary Cask Festival Ale, a special cask beer brewed collectively by the Washington brewers in honor of Bert Grant, a legendary Washington beer icon.
