The Washington Brewers Guild presents Washington Cask Beer Festival. This annual event is one of the Seattle area’s most popular beer events, featuring over 40 local breweries pouring cask-conditioned beer exclusively. This year Cask Fest takes place on Saturday, March 24th at Seattle Center. Tickets are on sale now. Event details below. List of breweries and beers will be announced soon.
While working within the bounds of tradition, Washington’s breweries put their own unique twist on the beers. In Great Britain, the term real ale is used to designate beers that are naturally carbonated in the cask, and then served using gravity or a hand pump, without the introduction of pressurized CO2. Like their British counterparts, our local brewers adhere to that tradition, but often add their own, new-world spin on traditional beer styles, introducing unexpected flavors and infusions to the beers.
Washington Cask Beer Festival is a fundraiser for the Washington Brewers Guild, a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and promoting the interests of Washington’s craft brewers while strengthening the Washington craft brewing community.
