Trellis Restauant & Lompoc Brewing Collaborate on Beers & Beer Dinner

We don’t provide ratings and such, but if we did, Chef Brian Scheesher’s beer dinners at Trellis Restaurant in Kirkland would get five star recommendations. The events never cease to amaze.

Chef Brian loves beer. The executive chef at Kirkland’s Trellis Restaurant puts together some of the best beer dinners I’ve ever experienced (and that’s saying a lot). Today we announce that Chef Brian is teaming up with Portland’s Lompoc Brewing to present a food-and-beer extravaganza. The event takes place at the restaurant in Kirkland on Friday, November 15. In fact, the plans for this beer dinner have been brewing for awhile. Literally.

Not long ago, Chef Brian headed down to Portland to make some beer with the folks at Lompoc Brewing. The beers are described as “farm-inspired.” In addition to running the restaurant, Brian also operates a farm in the Sammamish Valley. The dinner and the beers will feature stuff that he grew this summer.  One of the beers they created is a Blackberry Thyme Golden Ale using blackberries from the farm. They also brewed an Apple Saison, featuring farmhouse yeast and Scheehser’s own apples. In addition, they brewed Bry Bri Miss American Pie IPA for Lompoc’s ongoing guest IPA series of rock-n-roll themed IPAs. All three beers will be poured at the dinner. Also, Trellis will serve the beers in their lounge while supplies last.

“At Trellis, we create dishes that center on as many fresh, locally grown ingredients as possible for an authentic farm-to-table experience. But, there’s no need to stop there,” explained Chef Scheehser. “The Pacific Northwest is well known for its craft beer tradition, and working with Lompoc Brewing has provided an excellent opportunity to add more local flavor to our drink menu.

“We’re extremely pleased with how we’ve been able to incorporate flavors from Chef Scheehser’s farm for distinct new brews,” said Keilty. “We think diners will enjoy sampling the resulting beers.”
