Washington Beer Awards: Winners Announced at WA Brewers Festival

So, which Washington-brewed IPA reigns supreme? What is the best Washington porter? Is your favorite really “the best?” Because people simply must know the answer to these kinds of questions, we have an “official” competition in Washington.

The Washington Brewers Festival takes place at Marymoor Park in Redmond in just a couple weeks (Friday June 13 through Sunday June 15). For the second year, Saturday at the festival features the announcement of the winners of the Washington Beer Awards. The competition awards medals in 33 different beer categories. In all, more than 70 Washington breweries submitted 460 different beers. Recognize that there are nearly 250 breweries in Washington, many of which opted not to submit beer.

Competition organizers announce the medal winners on Saturday afternoon at the Washington Brewers Festival. Along with medals awarded for various styles, the competition also recognizes a Best Small Brewery and Best Large Brewery of the year.  Finally, the Washington Agricultural Commission recognizes the Best Washington Agricultural Product Inspired Beer.
