Washington Brewers Festival – new stuff happening this year

The Washington Beer Commission just sent out a press release with some important information regarding the Washington Brewers Festival (June 18-20). There’s new stuff happening this year. Here’s the press release:

2010 Washington Brewers Festival Adds Exciting New Features
Buzz Cart, Pint-Size Beer Garden, Expanded Wine and Cider Tasting, Putting Contest and More!

The Washington Beer Commission is pleased to present the 2010 Washington Brewers Festival at Saint Edward State Park in Kenmore, June 18-20. It is one of the largest beer festivals in the State and is also an all-age beer festival that allows beer drinkers the opportunity to celebrate Father’s Day weekend with their families while enjoying world class Washington Beer. In addition to the impressive beer lineup that boasts nearly 200 beers, this year’s Festival features some new and improved elements and new event hours.

Buzz Cart – The Buzz Cart is a craft beer tasting bar on wheels! Built by Jeff Smiley of Baron Brewing is Seattle, the Buzz Cart will make its debut at the Washington Brewers Festival. The Buzz Cart is an actual wood bar that will be stationed in different locations throughout the three day event and it will feature some of the most unique craft beers of the festival brewed with unusual ingredients. Special announcements and information will lead you to the roving Buzz Cart!

Pint-Size Beer Garden – The name will make you think it’s a small beer garden but this is actually a good sized location where you can have a full pint of craft beer as a break from sampling the 5.5 ounce tasting pours. Different craft beers will be rotating in this 21 and over only beer garden during the event.

Expanded Wine & Cider – In an effort to provide tasty alternatives for the non-beer drinker whose beer loving friend, husband, father or other can’t miss this event, we will now have two wineries from nearby Woodinville, and a handful of cider makers from the around the state on hand to take your tokens and tickle your tongues!

Putting Contest – Can you make an eight foot putt with people watching you? Knock one in and you’ll be entered into a raffle to win a pair of tickets to every beer tasting event put on by the Washington Beer Commission! Daily winners in this sporting event will be announced on the main stage (and notified by email).

Crowd Favorites return! The Brewers Keg Toss Contest, Rootbeer Garden, crowd-pleasing live music, craft booths, kids activity/play area and fantastic food vendors are all back for 2010.
