This Weekend in Bellingham - April Brews Day, Beer Festival

This Saturday in Bellingham, enjoy beers from 40 different breweries at the annual April Brews Day beer festival. Not just great beer, but a great cause as well. The event takes place Saturday, April 27 from 6:30 – 10:00 (VIP tickets will get you in an hour earlier). Depot Market Square, which also hosts the weekly farmers market, is conveniently located right across the street from Boundary Bay Brewery.

This festival focuses on breweries from the northern interior. In addition to all three of Bellingham’s own breweries (Boundary Bay, Chuckanut, and Kulshan) you will also see less-familiar breweries like North Fork Brewers from Deming, Menace Brewing from Ferndale, and Birdsview Brewing from Concrete. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door. Your $35 VIP ticket gets you in an hour early so you can hobnob with the brewers. In addition to Saturday night’s beer festival, there is also a “Rebound at Boundary Bay” brunch scheduled for Sunday. April Brews Day is a benefit for Bellingham’s Max Higbee Center – a nonprofit organization that provides recreation programs for teens and adults (ages 14+) with developmental disabilities.
