This Weekend – Oktoberfestivals and More

There’s a ton of stuff going on around Washington this weekend. Here’s a list if you’re looking for something to do.
Around Seattle:
Frogs and Dogs Festival at the Rogue Issaquah Brewhouse. Dogs like beer. Beer likes dogs. It’s simple, really. Frogs are just silly little amphibious creatures that make me laugh. The event is on Saturday from Noon – 10:00, Sunday from Noon – 6:00. Click here for all the details.
Oktoberfest at the Beveridge Place Pub. Things get rolling this weekend at the Beveridge Place, where they run Oktoberfest at the same time they do in Munich – Sept. 19th thru Oct. 4th.  They also serve Spaten, Paulaner and Hofbrau just like the do in Munich (litre mugs). They’ll also be featuring harvest ales from local and regional breweries.
Hop Harvestival at Hopvine. Capitol Hill’s Hopvine Pub will be celebrating the hop harvest with a brewers night tonight (Friday) featuring Big Al Brewing. Saturday they’ll be pouring Hale’s Cask Harvest. Sunday it will be New Belgium’s Harvest Ale. Go to their Web site for details.
Last Call at Gilligan’s Brewing. Seattle’s last “nano brewery” is shutting down. I think Gilligan’s Brewing is the last nano brewery? Brewing out of an Active Space unit can’t be easy, but the folks at Gilligan’s have mastered the art. Join them on Sunday from 12:00 – 5:00 for a last call shindig. 700 N 42nd, Unit 108, Seattle, WA. Visit their Web site for more info.
Fremont Oktoberfest. We would be remiss if we didn’t at least mention it. If this is your kind of gig, go have a great time. Wear boots and watch out for chunky puddles, if you know what I mean. If big rowdy crowds of over-consuming 20-somethings is not your scene, consider skipping it. Visit there Web site for details.
Out Of Town
Silver City Oktoberfest. All weekend at Silverdale’s Silver City Brewery and Pub, you can enjoy delicious brats and tasty brews (including their Oktoberfest). Proceeds will be donated to local firefighters. www.silvercitybrewing.com.
Hoptoberfest at Walking Man. Roadtrip to Stevenson and visit Walking Man Brewing this Saturday and you’ll be rewarded with beer, live music, games – basically, a kick-ass beer garden pouring Walking Man’s kick-ass beer.
Beer Geek Campout with Seattle Beer News. Not sure if they still have room, but Seattle Beer News is hosting a group campout for beer geeks at Deception Pass State Park. You should check with them for more details. Could be your last chance to camp this year!
