First, on Saturday afternoon (at noon & at 2:00) the Washington Beer Commission will announce the winners of the first-ever Washington Beer Awards. Find out if the judges agree that your favorite IPA is the best IPA in Washington. Beers were judged in several different style categories by real, official beer judges. It was a blind tasting – no peeking and no playing favorites. The judges didn’t know what they were drinking and don’t know who won.
There will be food trucks at the event this year. Last year all the typical fair-food booths stood in the shadow of the massive line for Skillet Street Food. This year, there will be a number of Seattle’s top food trucks there to serve the crowd. To name a few: Fish Basket, Off the Rez, Skillet Street Food, Street Donuts, and Veraci Pizza (mobile, wood-fired pizza kitchen).
If you show up on Saturday afternoon (like at 2:00 – 4:00) and you do not have your tickets already, you may have to wait a bit to get in. The crowd will surely be large and they will be metering the comings and goings to keep things safe.
Finally, the weather is going to be perfect. Bring shades. Bring sunscreen for your pale, northwestern skin! Check out the forecast below.
