Welcome Aboard, Dirty Bucket Brewing

It seems like only yesterday that Dirty Bucket Brewing opened in Woodinville near the corner of 144th Avenue and NE Woodinville Way. Today, join me in welcoming Dirty Bucket Brewing as the newest sponsor of the Washington Beer Blog. Back in 2011, when the brewery started serving beer, Woodinville had yet to become the beer destination that it is now.  Steve Acord’s brewery was part of a wave of beery goodness that soon swept across the city.

At the Dirty Bucket brewery and tasting room you’ll find a friendly and inviting space with a garage door that opens to the parking lot when weather allows. On occasion, you will find a food truck parked out front. (Check with the Facebook page to see when food trucks will be on site.)

Dirty Bucket Brewing is a family affair. Don’t be surprised to find the entire Acord gang at the brewery serving beers, conducting tours, washing glasses, or making beer. The tasting room is dog and kid friendly, open Thursday through Sunday. In 2012 we published an extensive interview with Steve Acord here on the blog. Read it.

IPA_canDirty Bucket started out operating on a half-barrel Sabco Brew-Magic system. Almost a year ago they increased capacity, brewing with a three-barrel brewhouse and fermenting in twin seven-barrel fermenters.  They still use the small half-barrel Sabco for pilot and special beers but for the most part have now ramped up the larger system. The growth allowed them to start packaging product and selling beer wholesale. Also, it allowed them to expand the tasting room’s hours.

These days they’re making a lot of beer and you can find it on tap at the brewery’s tasting room and select accounts around the area. Also, not too long ago they began packaging beer in 16-ounce aluminum cans, which you will find at bottleshops around the area. Keep an eye on the Facebook page for locations and availability.

My personal favorites are the Filthy Hoppin’ IPA and the Full Nelson Black IPA, but the Dirty Amber Ale (described as an ESB) is quite tasty too. You’ll usually find seven beers on tap at the tasting room.
